History in the Making is a grant designed to empower underrepresented young people (aged 13–25) to explore, celebrate, and share the stories of their communities. It supports them to connect with local heritage in meaningful ways – ensuring that the histories that matter most to them are preserved and brought to life.
Through a wide range of creative approaches, from visual art and murals to immersive walking trails and theatre – young people take the lead in deciding what stories to tell, who to celebrate, and how those stories should be shared.
What They Fund:
– Grants of up to £15,000
– Projects delivered outside of school hours
– Work taking place in areas of high social deprivation
– Initiatives that directly engage young people throughout
All funded projects must be co-created with young people, placing their voices, ideas, and decisions at the very heart of the process.
Deadline: 24th July 2026
