Funding, trees, and expert support are available to community groups across the UK and Ireland for tree-planting projects on publicly accessible land. The programme supports community woodlands, orchards, hedgerows, and rewilding initiatives, with grants available for projects planting between 100 and 10,000 trees. Additional maintenance funding is provided for the first two years after planting.
The International Tree Foundation does not appear to advertise a single “up to £X” grant value on its main programme page. Current guidance indicates funding is based on the number of trees planted, with support for:
- Community woodland and hedging projects planting 100 to 10,000 trees per year, funded at up to £2.15 per tree (including protection and mulch)
- Maintenance grants of 10p per tree per year for two years to support aftercare such as watering and weeding
Projects must deliver lasting community benefits and be located on public or publicly accessible land.
Deadline: Friday 11th December 2026
