The Ernest Cook Trust’s Outdoor Essentials Grants is a £500 award to UK state funded Primary and Secondary schools to enable them to get their pupils learning outdoors.
Each round has a particular focus. For example, applications for awards to contribute to travel and transport costs, or outdoor clothing. Applications from individuals, nurseries/playgroups, schools outside of the UK, youth clubs and outdoor learning organisations are not eligible. Applications from Parent Teacher Associations, Governors or ‘Friends of…’ Trusts must be made directly through the school.
The Trust priorities applications from schools:
- with disadvantaged pupils
- that are located in areas of high deprivation and/or have pupils who are living in challenging circumstances
- who are committed to enabling Outdoor Learning and see environmental engagement as an important part of education
- who can demonstrate that Outdoor Learning has a wider benefit to families and their local community
- who have not received an Outdoor Essentials grant from us before
Deadline: Currently closed to applications
