Fund: Thomas Wall Trust – Grants for Registered Charities

Fund: Thomas Wall Trust – Grants for Registered Charities

Organisation: Thomas Wall Trust
Up to: £5000
Deadline: Monday 6 January 2025

The Thomas Wall Trust’s Grants for Registered Charities fund makes grants of up to £5,000 towards specific projects or core activities that develop critical life skills for people from disadvantaged groups.

The Trust believes that communication skills are critical capabilities for people who want to improve their employment prospects, self-confidence, resilience, and life chances and recognises that communication is underpinned by a set of key features and skills such as empathy, listening, emotional intelligence, confidence, and clarity, amongst others.

The Trust welcomes proposals which target people experiencing multiple deprivation or other groups demonstrably facing major hurdles to employment, especially; women, people with physical, mental, or learning disabilities, refugees and asylum seekers.

Applicants must:

  • be a UK charity that has been registered with the Charity Commission for at least three years
  • apply for a project or running costs that equips disadvantaged people (aged 18 and over) with the necessary communication skills ready for employment
  • have annual repeat funding for up to three years – subject to satisfactory annual reviews of progress and impact
  • have an annual turnover between £25,000 and £500,000
  • evidence successful outcomes
  • be delivered using an already proven successful model
  • be operating in partnership with other local organisations

The Trust prioritise applicants:

  • with match funded projects
  • that have self-sustainable projects, with a view to becoming less reliant on grants in the future

Deadline: Monday 6 January 2025 (Stage 1 – EOI)
