The Congregational and General Charitable Trust awards grants of up to £25,000 (or a maximum percentage is 25% of the total project cost, to the nearest £100) to UK churches for capital projects involving building work: repairs, improvements or extensions. Church community projects for funding towards capital costs (but not for ongoing work) may also be considered.
The Trust are unable to consider grant applications for assistance with projects in excess of £1 million, nor are they able to consider funding for a small part of such larger projects.
Applicants are encouraged to take professional advice (e.g. Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Site Management) in preparing for and undertaking building projects. These costs can be included in the total project costs when applying for a grant.
Deadline: Ongoing. Applications are reviewed quarterly in March, June, September and December. See funder’s website for cut-off dates.
