The Football Foundation makes grants of up to £25,000 to football clubs, schools, voluntary groups, registered charities, social enterprises, councils and local sports associations plus other organisational types. It is focused on supporting the development of new or refurbished local football facilities, improving the experience of playing the national game at the lowest levels, and helping to increase participation in football across the country.
The fund contributes to costs associated with:
- purchasing goalposts
- purchasing storage containers
- purchasing portable floodlights
- repairing or building changing pavilions and clubhouses
- 3G pitch maintenance or purchasing equipment to maintain said pitch
- purchasing fencing
- building or improving the condition of small-sided artificial pitches
- new grass pitches
