A free webinar for faith groups in Kent and Medway who wish to consider fundraising strategies and income from external sources.
Whilst faith groups raise funds from within their membership, there may be large building or equipment costs that cannot be met immediately. In addition, many faith groups serve their local communities (and national/international causes) meeting social and welfare needs, and therefore have the potential to seek funds from ‘secular’ sources or grant-making trusts that have a faith basis.
This webinar will look at the range and types of funding that is available for faith groups and the advantages that a committed membership can bring as well as considering if external funding might put restrictions on faith activities. It will consider how you approach funding for projects, and funding for capital appeals, and will help you understand how to present an application which reflects the work you are doing, and who will benefit from it.
We will cover:
- planning to meet financial need with a faith-appropriate funding strategy
- different income streams and their effectiveness in a faith context
- limitations that would apply to external funding
- involving members and how their faith can impact fundraising
- record keeping, thanking supporters, reporting and communicating
The workshop will be followed by a Q&A session.
